Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into the limelight in 1994 when she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number. The album was Gold when she was 15 years old. R. Kelly heavily influenced this collaboration, and helped to bring her up to the top of the charts. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri as well as Timbaland for her second studio album One In A Million, that included the top-selling single If Your Girl Knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally as a R&B performer with the release of her second album One in a Million. In 2000, she was as a character in Romeo Must Die, a action/romance film starring Jet-Li. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at an awards show and suggested the role. In 2002 she got to be part of the vampire flick Queen of the Damned which was an adaptation of the Anne Rice novel. She then got into the Matrix in the form of Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also been as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Aarti Mann is an Indian-American from the one generation who was who was born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann comes from her married name Mankad. The actress employs Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar as her professional name. Though her first professional career was mostly dominated by small movie and TV roles, she gained more recognition in the latter half of 2000s. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. She has appeared in numerous commercials for Volvo's international automobile producer. Her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
